Sandusky Central Catholic School provides a superior academic education that is faith-based and rooted in Gospel's values. SCCS has continued to evolve since the founding of St. Mary Central Catholic High School in 1902 and the culmination of this proud legacy of Catholic education in Sandusky, a legacy that includes Holy Angels, Sts. Peter and Paul, and St. Mary's. We continue to move forward, making the necessary changes and improvements to advance our mission in the 21st Century.
Over the summer, we consolidated our campuses to more effectively serve our students. We have also instituted several additional improvements, including:
  • A new playground for the elementary school students
  • New bleachers for the "Den"
  • Expanded academic and service programs
  • Enhanced parking
As a result we are positioned to deliver an exemplary Catholic education, from pre-K through high school, well into the future.

Join us as we continue to advance the mission of Catholic eduacation in Sandusky.

Investing in Excellence . . .
The annual fund for SCCS is an important source of revenue, enabling us to offer expanded programs that otherwise could not be funded through tuition revenues alone. It also provides an important vehicle for our alumni, parents, and friends to participate directly in the mission of the school.

The Impact of Unrestricted, Sustainable Annual Gifts

Your gift to Investing in Excellence will impact Sandusky Central Catholic students from pre-K through high school, by providing the school with vitally important funds that are needed to keep tuition levels as affordable as possible. It will provide needed resources for on going staff training and development, need based tuition assistance for students, specialized educational computer programs, and additional computer technology.

The Leadership Circle

The Leadership Circle is comprised of those individuals who make an annual, unrestricted financial commitment of $1,000 or higher to SCCS. By joining the Leadership Circle, you become part of a select group of investors in the mission of Sandusky Central Catholic School who provide significant financial support every year, while serving as an example and inspiration to our students, parents, teachers, alumni and other benefactors.

  • The Budgeted Tuition Gap

At SCCS we make every effor to "do more with less," controlling costs and leveraging available resources.

The cost of education per student is significant and is funded by numerous revenue streams, above and beyond tuition. SCCS receives generous support from our three Sandusky parishes as well as the SCCS Education Foundation. In addition, we receive state funds for certain programs. Community support through fundraising provides additional resources.

The annual fund, combined with the above revenue streams and resources, helps keep tuition within the reach of many families who would not be able to afford SCCS otherwise and are already making significant sacrifices for their children to attend.

    The Tuition Gap:
(per student numbers based on 09-10 budget)
    $6,573 Expenses per student
$3,975 Less tuition & Parish subsidies
    $2,598 Tuition gap per student

In the current budget year, there is a "tuition gap" of $2,598 for each student in the school. A majority of these revenues must be offset through the generosity of others-those who believe that Sandusky Central Catholic School and its students are a worthy investment-an investment in the future.

Your participation in Investing in Excellence is vital to maintaining the excellence and accessibility of a Sandusky Central Catholic education.
